Why You Should Cruise Into 2019

Updated: May 28, 2023

Looking for a new way to spend time with your friends and family. A cruise may be the way to ring in the new year! Rethink the idea of a cruise.

When I say rethink a cruise.. I’m saying rethink for the better! Cruises are a great way to see multiple locations in one trip, meet fun people, see shows, swim in pools AND the deep blue, and “excursion” like the best of em. We really enjoyed The Royal Caribbean experience. I would do a cruise again any day and this is coming from the most sea sick, vertigo driven gal on the planet. Here are my top 15 reasons you should book your next trip cruising the sea.

  1. Take the stress out of planning every detail. Who’s bringing what, rental car, is this place booked, we cant get a table for that many people.... STOP. Cruises offer options, upgrades, or just keep as is. Book your flight, hotel, food/drink package and you’re set to go. You are given a list of included options you can choose to take or kick your feet up.

  2. Cruises are incredibly social, you see familiar faces aboard, see people at outings, the beach, and most are there fir a fun time!

  3. Dont worry about sea sickness or not having sea legs. Im sea sick even just looking at a boat and I was fine. I took Dramamine and wore a patch to be safe. Cruises are so large, I never felt unsafe or woozy unless I was at the very end or very front of the boat.

  4. See multiple locations that otherwise would be hella expensive to stay at. For example we spent a day in The Bahamas at The Atlantis Hotel and waterpark (so cool) but to stay their overnight would be unreasonable. We even went to our own private island with the ship to snorkel! Sail out of cool port to extend your trip or start it early. We got to check out New Orleans for two days and then cruise down the Mississippi to the Gulf!

  5. The rooms are tiny, but its really just for sleeping. I slept like a rock being on an interior windowless room, id wake up and not even know what year it was. They are all well kept and everyday the cleaning staff leave you a snazzy towel animal sculpture.

  6. The food is really good! We always had the option for the buffet or 4 course sit down that changed nightly. We felt like luxury ordering creme brûlée, escargot, halibut, filets, and beyond. Needless to say you’ll gain a few pounds from all the sampling!

  7. Fun cocktails are a must. We had the unlimited drink package that seemed to do the trick for all. Find your favorite bartender and tip him/her well. You’ll be set for the trip!

  8. Get involved! I joined a nightly class to learn how to do the Thriller Dance, attended The Newly Wed Game in a theater, comedians, and watched various performances. We went during the new year and they had a balloon drop, champagne toast, and fun count down.

  9. Go gamble! Most have casino’s on them. You aren’t on land, so go win some dollars (or lose a few) while you can!

  10. Do you at the spa or fitness center! Find that balance between the buffet and your fitness.

  11. No passport? No problem. If you go out of the US you can travel all over.

  12. Fun for all ages from kids clubs, teen dance clubs, young adult only bars, and all the above.

  13. You can go anywhere! The gulf, alaska, europe, mexico, east coast, and beyond. There are so many different routes to chose from. My major goal would be a Greek island cruise from Spain!

  14. No wifi (unless you buy it) so you are unplugged from the world and get to enjoy those around you. I saw people going super old school with walky talkies to avoid their phones.

  15. 360 ocean views when you really get cruising! What is better than that?
